Welcome at Storklab

Department of Genetics and Molecular Neurobiology

Our research is dedicated to understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying information storage in the central nervous system.

We are fascinated by the processes that occur in the brain’s neural circuits following a specific experience and that underlie the consolidation of recently acquired memories and their modification upon repeated exposure to that experience.

We believe that a better understanding of these processes will not only advance our understanding of brain function in general but also provide a key to therapeutic interventions for neuropsychiatric disorders, ranging from intellectual disabilities to stress-related affective disorders.
